DTR_3301 Got Commitment?

[Holding up a glass of a Paleo-friendly beverage in tribute…] Here’s to all the amazing people who are members of CrossFit Montgomery County. I spend a lot of time in class telling you to stick your butt out, stay on your heels, get your elbows up, throw it higher, get down lower, and open your hips to full extension, so it’s time I recognize you for what you are. You are committed CrossFitters, and I’m so very proud of each and every one of you.

You are the reason I get up every morning – without your dedication and hard work this job wouldn’t be any fun at all. You have a fantastic attitude toward CrossFit and toward life, and your positive energy fuels me in my endeavor to provide you with the excellence you so richly deserve. You come to the gym two, three, or in some cases five times each week to test yourself against the craziness I program for the day, and you do it knowing full well I’m going to be there the whole time telling you to stick your butt out, stay on your heels, get your elbows up, throw it higher, get down lower, and open your hips to full extension.

I give you shit, and you give it right back without a second thought. You hold me to the same ridiculously high standards I hold you. And you visit this website to read my random observations, interpretations and suggestions (or outright complaints) day in and day out. (For that last one alone you should all receive medals, or perhaps a one-way ticket to a top-notch mental health facility…)

But most of all, you are committed to doing whatever is necessary to improve your life. That much is obvious when you come in to leave sweat angels on the rubber mats everyday, and to redefine what you’re capable of according to your terms and no one else’s. You work your ass off and get results. So here’s to you – who refuses to take life lying down, and for whom the word “mediocre” does not apply.
